As a coach, having a concise way to introduce yourself and what you do is a good idea. You may have heard this called an elevator pitch or a 30 second commercial. There are lots of ways to create something like this, and I think we often get way too serious and stressed out about it. It should be something you can feel good about saying. You don’t want to sound robotic or inauthentic as you describe yourself and what you do. Come up with something that delights you! If it makes you smile or puts a twinkle in your eye as you say it, it will be more memorable for anyone hearing it.
Don’t overthink it!
Instead of thinking too hard about it, I want to encourage you to get really creative and come up with some fun and snazzy ways of introducing yourself to others. If you need a spark to get you started, ask your favorite chat AI bot for help. For instance, here are some examples I got from Chat GPT turning a plain introduction into something more snazzy.
•Example 1:
**Plain**:
“I’m a life coach, and I help people reach their goals.”
**Snazzy**:
“I’m a goal-getting guru! I help you stop dreaming and start doing, turning your ‘maybe someday’ into a ‘heck yes, today!’”
•Example 2:
**Plain**:
“I coach small business owners on how to grow their businesses.”
**Snazzy**:
“I’m the secret sauce behind small business success! I help entrepreneurs go from ‘meh’ to ‘WOW’ by unlocking growth strategies they didn’t know they had.”
•Example 3:
**Plain**:
“I’m a health and wellness coach.”
**Snazzy**:
“I’m your personal wellness ninja! I slice through bad habits and help you flex your way to a healthier, happier you—no gym membership required!”
•Example 4:
**Plain**:
“I work with people who feel stuck and help them get unstuck.”
**Snazzy**:
“Feeling like life’s got you in a traffic jam? I’m your personal GPS—helping you reroute, bypass roadblocks, and get you back on the fast lane to where you want to be!”
•Example 5:
**Plain**:
“I’m a career coach helping professionals transition to new jobs.”
**Snazzy**:
“I’m your career compass, helping you navigate the twists and turns of job transitions and land where your passions meet your paycheck.”
The power is in the prompt.
If you decide to use Chat GPT or another AI, you will need to prompt it with your own specific request. The better your prompt, the better the results will be. You will likely get more specific and appropriate results from a more thorough prompt.
Here’s an example to get you started.
“Chat GPT, you are a marketing specialist for coaches. I’m tired of introducing myself to people in boring ways, and I’d like your help coming up with some fun, clever, and maybe even sassy ways to introduce myself. I want them to really get a good impression of who I am and what I do. Right now, I just tell people that I am a life coach, and I help people reach their goals. I really need some new clients this coming week. What are some other more fun and interesting ways I can introduce myself at my next opportunity?”
Remember, the AI is your creative partner. you can edit whatever you like and/or ask it for more examples. It doesn’t get tired. 😄Whether you use AI or come up with something completely on your own, have fun with this! Feel free to share an example of your own snazzy introduction here. 👇🏼,
